As a freelance advertising writer, I have had the chance to apply my storytelling skills to both important and fun campaigns. For example, through an ad company in Winnipeg, Canada I helped create a campaign for a travel company. The two companies had teamed up to provide direct flights from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Iceland for the first time. Because of the relative proximity and the deep connection Winnipeg and Iceland have (many settlers from Iceland landed in Winnipeg), they requested a campaign that would position this trip as an alternative to the weekend getaway to Las Vegas or California that many people often took.
