She’s Not There

Sheʼs Not There is the story of Casey and Scott, a couple in their thirties who have been together eight years. They seem happy and content in their domestic arrangement, considering marriage but in no rush to make things legally binding. Enter Raine: a beautiful, funky, young neighbour. She is funny, smart, has diverse interests and hobbies, and is unencumbered by that sense of resignation that comes from being attached for a long time to one job, one person or one identity.

From this basic premise, a complex and humorous illustration of the human condition emerges. These three characters circle each other in a hilarious dance of awkwardness and attraction, and the outcome is funny, biting and at times very touching. This deceptively simple play seems to ring familiar and appeal to people and couples of literally all ages.
